To support Amnesty International's 2021 Write4Right's day, VICE highlighted one of their ongoing human rights cases. Produced in the UK and filmed in Guatemala, we learn of Bernardo Caal Xol's unlawful imprisonment for his efforts to protect his people's sacred Cahabon river from a Hydroelectric plant.

Together with Amnesty we managed to spread the word about Bernardo's case, and help drive viewers to sign a petition for his case to be appealed.

Due to the massive international response from the campaign, Bernardo Caal Xol’s case was successfully appealed, and he has since been freed from prison and returned home to his family.

The second video features an ongoing battle with the rise in femicide in South Africa.
